How would you suggest for someone to learn new events?
What different ideas do you use to keep organized preparing to go to the convention and while at the convention? Here is a list from the retreat. Please add more information or add additional items.
•Taping schedules to tables in the congregation table meeting area
•Preparing notebook of information to all attendees
•Meet at specific time as a group
•Get cell numbers for all parents
•Pull together a personalize family schedule of events and a congregational scheduled of events
•Make sure you have extra copies of team sheets
•Avoid downtime with something for the kids to do that is fun
How do you recruit your judges and ambassadors to help at the convention? If you do you something different, please add your suggestions.
•Utilize elders
•Parents letters and forms
•Just Assign people
•Utilize signup portal on LTC website
•Utilize Teens High School as ambassadors
•Utilize seniors who have wisdom and young adults with no children
•Make it an adult bible class project to support in this area

•Congregations Award Ceremony
•Congregational LTC presentations
•Bring awareness of what the kids are doing. Use the ladies bible class as a venue for a puppet performance and practice
•Display, display events throughout the church.
•Have youth lead a service, utilizing gifts and talents in preparation for LTC

•Create a culture within your church that allows support for LTC
•Create an environment of fun and fellowship allow growth among the body
•Testimony from kids, parents, coaches on the value of LTC
How do you recruit for event coaches at your congregation? Here are suggestions from the retreat. Pick 1 and expand on it.
•Entice with food and beverage
•Host a fun kick off meeting
•Conduct talent survey with parents/others from church on what type events match their talents
•Don’t overload coaches with too much… break it down in small manageable tasks
•Set Expectations
•Pull together a responsibility check list for the event
•Solicit support from other congregations, share the coaches between congregations
•Conduct group information meetings with congregation, soliciting their support. Focus on adults with no children, seniors, etc.
•Send invitations
•Sign up forms

•Coaches need to know deadlines for all events-but be flexible-plan ahead
•Challenge events should be conducted on their own time at home
•Do your pre-convention and display events in the fall, allowing more time for performance events and bible bowl in winter and spring.
•Do not scheduled during holiday breaks
•Schedule flex time for coaches to allow for procrastination
•Do puppet and chorus/drama on Sunday afternoons after church.
•Conduct Bible Bowl into Wednesday night classes
•Schedule LTC time adjacent to other church activities
•Allow flex time for display event coaches to conduct coaching on time that is convenient to them.
•Obtain video/DVD for signing, for those congregations who do not have people trained in this area.
•Put study guide questions in game format. www.quia.com Allows for home study and group think in a fun environment.

•Integrate with Wednesday night program
•Parent support youth. Show Comparison of costs and total time needed with other activities (dance, baseball, etc.)
•Conduct interest inventory with High School students, to match interests with LTC events
•Utilize incentives and rewards
•Obtain commitment from parents/youth early on with registration paid
•Show skills learned from LTC to others in the congregation
•Utilize videos from past conventions to show kids and parents what LTC is all about.
•Share information with other C of C congregations
•Demonstrate some of the events, Puppets, Song Leadings, etc.
•Encourage High School students with scholarship opportunities
•Use High School students as coaches for younger kids and use as Leadership Challenge event.
•High school students as Ambassadors at convention
