It is now less than 1 month until the registration deadline. Remember that is you have not submitted your Church Coordinator Covenant that is the first step. You can find a copy on the website or Registration Portal (http://www.hoaltc.org/2009/2009HOALTCChurchCoordinatorCovenant.doc). If you are having trouble with the form, try to save it to your computer and then open it in Microsoft Word. . Fill it out, save it and then attach it to an email message to registration@hoaltc.org.

At the Registration Deadline, you need your participants registered, shirts entered, hotel request submitted, judges/ambassadors registered and payment mailed. Hotel priority is based on all this being completed. Don't be left out. Get it in early.

There has been an update to the songs that will be used with the 2009 LTC Song Leading event. Below is a list of the new songs available for selection. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Dear Church family:

This letter comes to you as an invitation for adults from your congregation to come to an At-a-Glance event designed for you to learn more about this exciting ministry opportunity. This informational session will be held on Saturday September 27th from 10 a.m. till noon at the Central church of Christ building in Wichita, KS (address: 225 N. Waco). We will provide lunch for you.

Leadership Training for Christ (LTC) is a program designed for youth in grades 3-12. The LTC program officially began in 1988 but has its roots in the “Lads to Leaders” pursuits of the late 1960’s. The goal of the LTC program is to minister to youth by providing opportunities for them to develop and to enhance leadership skills for use in the Kingdom of God. Annually thousands of youth and sponsors representing hundreds of congregations of the churches of Christ participate in LTC conventions held in nearly a dozen different locations across the nation.

The Heart of America LTC (HoALTC) Convention meets each year in the Kansas City area and is routinely attended by dozens of congregations from Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, and Kansas. This convention is directed by a board of nine members of different congregations from each of these four states.

We have planned this event for September 27th as a chance to meet you, to hear your comments, and to answer any questions that you may have about your congregation’s potential involvement in LTC.

The 2009 Manual has been posted to the website. The key changes in the manual include the following:

Update to Children’s Book Rubric

Update to Bible Bowl Rules

Update to Sermon Delivery Rules and Rubric

Addition of Torch Bearer Program for graduates of LTC.

We have also changed the 2009 location back to Hyatt Regency Crown Center. With this move, we have negotiated a 3-year contract. With the extended contract, the cost for double rooms will increase to $100 and remain at that cost for 3 years. We will also have a different set of suites and parlors so be sure to read the website for more details.

We apologize but the Manual and Study Guide are still not ready for LTC 2009 and the book of John. I hope to publish the manual by 1 July and the Study Guide by 1 September. Check back later.
